Lindsey is a tremendous coach. Conversations were very clear about what we wanted to get out of a coaching session. She’s good at challenging answers and ideas, without this seeming confronting, and this is where she helped me see opportunities for changing my people leadership style. These I have taken into my new role, and I am using continuously.

Lindsey is a natural coach, but does this by servant leadership and by example, and by doing so, provides a high level of confidence and provides an environment here where great can be done, both at an individual and team level. By providing high levels of; education, servant leadership, subject matter expertise, through preparation and structural input, distilling a vast amount of information into digestible content and stimulus for the workshop. Coaching what are already senior leaders in their own right and leading by doing, coaching by guiding, not preaching. I admire Lindsey’s energy, vision and bravery.

Lindsey had been at ACC for a number of years, understood the culture, the personalities, the cadence of the business and was able to coach and support me while I transitioned into the new role. She was also instrumental in coaching me as a peer not only over the short term but longer term. I think the greatest quality Lindsey brings to coaching is her approachability and her ability to really get into the heart of what you are working on. She is also high in empathy and has loads of energy which is motivating as a coach.

Working at the Stroke Foundation of New Zealand has been an eye-opening experience into the world of non-profits. Like any organisation we can fall into siloed working environments, particularly as part of the fundraising team in national office, separate from our support workers around the country. After our workshop with Turas, I feel more empowered to treat every interaction within and outside the organisation as an effective connection point to grow each relationship. As one of the front line people answering phones, the exercises in the workshop helped me better understand and appreciate the importance of the fundraising team as a connector between different people in the organisation, and how we can apply and use the amazing breadth of skills we already have to encourage others to make the connections they have flourish too.
