3 Tips I Learnt about Legacy from the Edge Mastermind In Arizona

What does living your legacy look and feel like?
How do you know when you've discovered your True North?
Firstly I'm going to apologise that this is actually coming to you on Thursday, not Tuesday. I'm still playing catch-up with jetlag and timezones!
I recently went to the USA as part of the Edge Mastermind for a 2-day session with Dean Graziosi and 60 global entrepreneurs. 26 hours door-to-door travel with a dicky spine, a walking stick and a hot water bottle in two - all to be in the USA for exactly 4 days.
I can hear you say 'is she crazy?'. To some, yes it's likely I appear that way. Yet to me, this is what living my legacy looks like. It gives me meaning and joy and I will do whatever it takes to achieve it. The fact that I'm bionic from the waist down after a spinal fusion and 4 hip replacements won't hold me back (thank goodness for wheelchair assistance is all I'll say).
I went thinking I would learn more about how I can bring back innovation and best practice into coaching in New Zealand as well as how to scale up my business globally. Yet I returned with so much more. Don't you love it when that happens - when your expectations are exceeded beyond your wildest dreams?
In addition to growing my entrepreneurial expertise, I actually learnt 3 very important things about myself and legacy:
Living your Legacy is more about who you are and what you believe about yourself - your headspace / mindset - and less about your skills. And it's completely unique to you because it's based on your values and your beliefs, no-one else's. There were 60 different legacies being lived in that room in Arizona.
The Importance of Legacy is not defined by status, titles or money, it's defined by passion. meaning and impact. Money is simply the 'enabler.'
Being Vulnerable is a strength that inspires, not a weakness. I had created a 'story' in my head that was holding me back. I believed that showing a vulnerable side of myself as a business owner would look unprofessional (despite living my 26-year career doing the exact opposite!). I also didn't believe in the power of my own journey to inspire others. In a breakout session on work:life integration, there were emotions shared by us all, irrespective of our status or success, which enabled us to connect at a much deeper level. When you strip it all back, whether you are an employee or own a business, we are all people at the end of the day with fears and worries. Showing that part of yourself to the world makes you 'real' and that's where we like to connect. This made me realise I had a more powerful story to tell borne out of a place of vulnerability and challenge that was my whole 'why' for setting up Turas.
I stood up in a room full of 60 entrepreneurs and made the commitment to share my story. Why did I do that?
Because saying it out loud makes it real and saying it to others makes you own it and be accountable.
And as an important member of my Turas community, I'm sharing this with you in our 'Top Pick Tuesday' in the hope this will inspire you to live a legacy that's true to you and your journey with all its twists and turns.
It's your journey - travel it well with Turas...
Tapadh leibh,
